Dear Apostles family,

I want to share a few important updates.

First, thank you for your generosity and support through the Giving Challenge. Because of your giving, we were able to help raise funds for our outreach partnership in support of Day 4 Hope in partnership with First Baptist Church. We have nearly met our goal of sponsoring 20 children.  I am grateful for the way our church continues to look outward in love and practical care for our neighbors. More details will be coming soon about how we may serve and support Day 4 Hope together through that partnership. But Please mark your calendar for the DAY4HOPE - Saturday August 8 - 2026.

I also want to let you know that I will be away on vacation from May 3 through May 8, and I will return to services on Mother’s Day, May 10. We are thankful that Fr. Everett Walk will be with us as our visiting priest on Sunday, May 3. I know you will welcome him warmly, and I am grateful for his willingness to serve while I am away.

As we continue to grow into our identity and calling as a mission church, I also want to say a word about our relationship with DaySpring. Their support, hospitality, and partnership have been a real gift to us, and I remain thankful for the way that relationship continues to serve the life of our congregation. As we work through the process of preparing for mission status, one of the next steps will be a general congregational survey. This will give us an opportunity to listen well to the hopes, interests, and priorities of our church family as we look ahead together. That survey will invite reflection on areas such as youth programming, growth, music, and other ways we can strengthen the life of our congregation in a faithful and fruitful way.

I also want to encourage you in some of the steady rhythms already taking shape among us. Our Men’s Bible Study continues to be a good time of fellowship and study, and our Christian Formation hour remains an important part of our life together as we grow in the knowledge and love of Christ. There is also early interest in the possibility of beginning a Daughters of the King chapter, which could become another meaningful avenue for prayer, service, and spiritual encouragement within our church.

Thank you for your prayers, your faithfulness, and your love for Church of the Apostles. I am grateful to serve among you, and I look forward to what the Lord has ahead for us.

Grace and peace,

Fr. Bill
